SAFE LASER TECHNOLOGY
There are two different categories of lasers used to inscribe gemstones with. Hot (YAG) lasers are the among the most common types of lasers applied in the engraving field. Cold (Excimer) laser technology is the only laser system guaranteed 100% safe for diamond inscription. Cold lasers do not penetrate the surface of the gemtone which prevents from production of a feathering effect that can fracture the gemstone. Cold lasers are the only type of inscribing technology that we employ.

Excimer laser technology does not change the color or clarity of the diamond and is permanent, however can be removed if desired by a professional diamond cutter.

Special care and handling techniques for your gemstone must be taken in order to preserve your laser inscription. Utilization of alternative cleaning and polishing methods such as mild pickling, ultrasonic/steam cleaning and polishing with a fine brush will help to prevent damage or removal of your inscription.
